Is anybody from R18 thinking of going over to the north-east region event at Raby Castle on the 14th August?

We're going in the 911T and staying over on the Friday night for the Saturday drive, can't make the Sunday as it clashes wirth a bike race.

Tony
Rest assured you will be made very welcome by NE region members, even if you come by yourself

Thanks Alan I'm sure we will. We have now booked into a B&B near Barnard castle on the Saturday and I think we are going to the opera being performed in the grounds at Raby Castle on the Saturday night. Whats the drive mentioned by Alan Woods ?

I have organised a DDK ( www.ddk-online.com) weekend to coincide with the Raby castle event. On Saturday we will have near 18 classic Porsches on a run through the Northern Yorkshire Dales [:D]

On Sunday DDK will be on display at Raby. If you like early cars pop along & say hello [:D]

Ann Marie and I are also coming over with Tony. Looking forward to the drive over and the weekend events. Its few years since we came over - the last event we came to was a Porsche Motorsport weekend combined with Regional Concours. I think Glynis and Mike were the RO's then. By the way, does anyone know how they are?

Peter
Thanks for the mail. I may be wrong about this, but did you and Ann Marie once come over some years ago to join us at our Xmas dinner at Whitworth Hall, which used to be our meeting venue at the time? Anyway, coincidentally Pat and I dropped in to see Mike and Glynis yesterday afternoon (they live in Bishop Auckland) on our way back from Raby (I had been through to put the finishing touches to a little quiz I've planned). They're both well, and will almost certainly be at Raby on the 14th August. Mike's well into Harley Davidson bikes now (and landrovers), and they've just recently returned from a 5-day Harley international event in Nice, France. 12,000 bikes there, from all over the world. Awesome. Looking forward to seeing you all

Yes it was us at your dinner, and also Tony and his wife Nicky came with us. The company and hotel was superb. All four of us are coming to Raby, staying over the night before.
Amazing you should mention the Harley 'do' in South France - we were in the area at the time. We could hardly move when we visitd St Tropez as there were Harley's everywhere, shattering the peace and quite with the bark from their drainpipes!! The whole area around that part on the coast was crawling with the damn things! We saw some starnge sights amongts them too. Thankfully we were staying in Antibes, just out of their 'reach'. Each to their own eh!

Peter, I wonder if Mike was the one with the horns and the fur on his crash helmet, if it was he's put on a few pounds.
