Hi
changing my Boxster soon and fancy Racing Yellow - I currently have Guards Red (and had Basalt Black before that) Is Racing Yellow one of the colours that is "difficult to sell sir" when one comes to change again?
White used to be in that category but since Audi introduced Ibis White it seems to have become popular again.
I like the yellow.
Cheers
Nick

Out of 742 Boxsters for sale on Autotrader, 7 are yellow

Silver, then back then blue most popular colours

I'd suggest buy what you like!

When the Trade buys in:-

Yellow will be one of those colours that are 'hard to sell' or you may get for a silver car 'Ah silver - afraid the market is flooded with them Sir [:-]

When the Trade sells this becomes

Yellow - A very rare and desirable colour, this wont be on the forecourt for long sir[;)].

Silver, A sound choice, does not show the marks or dirt, the phone has already rang twice for this one and we only got it in this morning [8|]

Go for Yellow if thats what you want.

Drive down any road and what do you see mostly? Silver, Black, grey (and variants of), white...a few red.

I've followed my heart and ordered my GTS in Riviera Blue!

Enjoy what you want and don't follow the herd :)

Quite a coincidental post. I have just come past OPC East London new showroom by City airport. Loads of cars on the new forecourt, both secondhand and unregistered, and ALL, I exagerate not, black, grey or white. Every single one. A really dull selection, not one red, blue, yellow etc amongst them.

Buying a car on the basis of how easy it will be to sell is certainly a challenge. Generally, the main shades go through cycles of popularity (old photographs of street scenes from different decades often illustrate this) but the less usual colours are always going to be more of a peripheral choice and are always going to appeal to a consistently small percentage of buyers. That is why they are chosen in such small numbers from new.

In the Porsche world there are some great colours available on the 981 Boxster but they are rarely seen and some used car dealer adverts in the Porsche magazines show one silver car after another. So many of these cars fail to take advantage of the many great non-black interiors available too, but each to his own and all that. I would always say buy and enjoy what appeals - which is why our car is green!

Thanks folks

I will go yellow I just love the car in this colour

Guards red was good also

cheers

Agree with all of the above. Buy what you like, enjoy, worry about selling on when the time comes. Tastes will change . today's "brave" colours will be tomorrow's ordinary. Back in 2000 I bought a new Boxstyer S in what was then colour to sample Zanzibar Red (sort of orangey red). Had no problem moving it on to a dealer and it never actually got into their showrrom. It was sold as soon as advertised !

Last Boxster was Speed Yellow which I prefer to Race Yellow ,all a personal choice ,buy what you want not what some one down the line might want .White is currently the new Silver have a 944 in White looks great and the Red Spyder again different from the majority which are White .

I think it will look good.
Saw a Racing Yellow Boxster last week as it came past when at roundabout and it stood out.
I was too afraid to go for it when I bought the Cayman so stuck to white but new Spyder is ordered in yellow!
