Radar Detector

I am thinking about installing a radar dector and had the Road Pilot in mind as it is small and only beeps if you are approaching a camera and exceeding the speed limit rather than whenever is sees a camera (as the Road Angel).

Does anyone have any experience with this product or others and also does anyone have a recommendation for an installer in London.

Looks like a great weekend for driving - especially with the top down!

Thanks

I think the new Road Angel Plus is generally regarded as one of the best on sale at the moment.

I did hear rumours that you can somehow download speed camera locations onto the Sat Nav, but I've never found instructions on how to do so - it is certainly possible to do this on BMWs.

I bought a Talex Lite as it got rave reviews in AutoExpress group test and so far so good. On my daily drives I have it turned almost off as I know the scameras back to front. When travelling off piste I turn the lady back up and let her warn me of every camera I am heading towards. Its a cheap and cheerfull unit but does exactly what it says it does on the box [;)]

For £51.00 brand new and boxed, off ebay, I figured it was worth the gamble that AutoExpress weren't speaking with forked tongue :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Thanks- the Talex though looks quite big and I was thinking of something small as I will hardwire it in to the car.
Perhaps the Micro Road Pilot or MicroGo.

Road Angel is the best I have ever used, and I have used most of them... even imported ones...
I do not know how good is the SatNav one...

I too have been recommended to the Road Angel plus. Even deals with mobile laser guns - very important! I hven;t been driving in any unfamiliar territories so far, so I'm coping without one - but when I do tranvel further afield, I think the RA Plus will be my choice.
