Radiator gone !

LStarted a journey to attend a regional meet today and 15 minutes into the journey my water level warning started to flash. Always check levels meticulously so this was a bit of a shock. Stopped on the side of the road and when I walked around the front of the car I noticed water coming from the front passenger side this had the green tinge to it so I knew straight away that either a hose or the radiator had sprung a leak.
Went straight back home stopping at a garage 5 mins away to check the level so no damage was being done.

Scanners out and dismantled the front end which i couldn't believe was very easy. Anti freeze and water all over the wheel arch and discs ect.

I couldn't believe the amount of debris that had found its way into the radiators not only the bottom but the top as well This included cigarette ends , leaves, and dirt.
I found the leak which as Sod's law goes was 3 pin holes in the cooling radiator right at the very top, I would have thought that if it was going to hole anywhere it would have been the bottom.

I Need to replace the radiator and while the front end is off I will be cleaning every nook and cranny from debris.
Would it be best to change both sides?

Steve,

If it were me, I'd replace both radiators. Or you could get the other one pressure tested.

Either way, it's best to do it while the front PU is off and the coolant is drained from the system..

It would be a good idea to check the condition of the aircon condensers while you're at it too.

Now is also a good time to put some mesh in the intakes, while you have the PU off. It will help stop most of the debris from getting in.

There is a promotion code on Boxa.net for 25% off Zunsport grilles until the end of July...

Just fitted Z's grilles to 981"S". Hopefully reduce likely missile invasion as having just returned from 2000mile plus trip to Italy found dozens of small stones in front area both sides and some in radiators but no damage. Black grilles on Basalt Black car looks good as well. Get code from Pistonheads (Porsche topic today) for a 25% discount. Arrived next day and fitted easily but do tape around paintwork edging to avoid any scratches while fitting. Had them for years on my 986 and kept leaves out in Autumn as an added bonus.
