Radiators

Can anyone advise me of the dimensions of the Radiators on the 996 C4 please?

I am contemplating having them replaced with upgraded Rads, made by a company who specialise in Touring car and F1. These will be lighter than the original Rads and more efficient.

P.S The have just done an exhaust system for me and it is incredible, great sound, great look.

Its hard to give demensions as you need more than the length/width/depth of the radiators. You also need to know where the pipes are sited, their dimensins and fixing points. Here is a link to start with http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Porsche_911_3.6_2004/p/car-parts/car-cooling-parts-and-car-heating/cooling/car-radiator/?203330230&1&94f91955a85ca9598cd57f5de740f23cc432d725&000261

but try going to the Behr Hella web catalogue for more info. If you are getting the rads made, it is probably as well if you can find old knackered ones cheaply for them to use as a template.

Unless they are cheaper I wouldn't bother. The standard rads are the same one's used on the GT3/GT3RS so are more than up to the job of cooling a standard C4.

Design 911 do standard rads starting at £87.50 for OTRAC then £123 for the same Hella ones Porsche use. Design 911 Radiators

If you really want some extra cooling then it might be worth a look at the way Porsche do it. That's to add a centre rad (see the Design 911 link above)

Hi. The rads are: width 490mm, height nominally 310mm (of the core), 350mm from top to bottom of the galleries, at their "slim" point, and 390mm top to bottom of the galleries at their biggest point, which is at the hose connections. So overall height is 390mm. Thickness is 45mm. On the front of the rad are four fastener bosses where the air con condenser attaches. The bosses are 355mm apart (centres), horizontal dimension (width), and 335mm apart in the vertical dimension (height).
These are measurements from my 996 turbo but I think the rads are the same dimension as your C4.
Best of luck.
