I'm interested to hear about this too. Currently stashing wallet, keys, iphone, etc in the small cubbyhole behind the handbrake - and with a little brisk acceleration everything usually ends up in the rear footwells.
i hear ya...have a creek in neck looking for stuff in that cubby hole
Also note, if you are going to fit accessories to the panel, you need a panel that has a screw fitting on the back to be safe. I made one out of ali for the job, but I believe the hole DIN sized so any DIN sized blanking plate from EBAY would do the job (with the correct screw fitting on the back. I'll see if I can get a pic up of mine.

944 part.
I can check when I get back from Spa
any luck finding that number?
shot of back showing clamp to ensure it doesnt fall out!
shot of fitted in car.
Obviously you wont see it at all once accessories are fitted on the front. A couple of pieces of angle ali, a drill and some tape.....
Can anyone tell me if porsche one has a fitting bracket on the back?

...today I went down to my local scrappy for the 1st time in about 20 years (Harry Buckland's on Innsworth road Melv - you probably know it?).
I parked the R32 as far away from the crusher as possible, tried not to eyeball the oily alsation and set off to find a good, clean single din cubby hole.
Came across a VW Sharan with the perfect part - about as deep as a stereo - and it even has a rubber mat to stop your sweeties from falling on your passenger's lap. Handed over £2 to the pikey in the caravan, found the Golf still in one piece and headed home...
It fits perfectly. Nice and tight in the dash and I drilled a hole in each bottom corner and used long cable ties to secure it to the metal brackets which would have held the stereo.
Can anyone beat £2 for a really useful RS mod? []

very tidy Rich - and £2 well spent, but I can't help thinking.......isn't this what the glove compartment is for? []
Can't reach it with harnesses tight!
No, it's mainly for Euros for French tolls, sunglasses and Werther's originals. []

I think I've seen some RSs (possibly the 2.7RS) with an elasticated pocket on the driver's door card which actually looks a lot better than it sounds, which would be ideal for storing such things, and has the added advantage that you're companion can not help themselves to your sweets! [] No doubt the likes of Southbound would charge for more than £2 for supplying and fitting such a piece of trim.
