Hello all,

When I bought my 993 it had a rather nasty aftermarket sony cd player installed. I have since removed that and put in a natty Alpine idax200 unit (support ipod etc). However, I find myself wanting to get the car as original as possible. So I have 2 questions...

1) which was the standard radio cassette fitted to a c4s in 1996? I think it is CR21 or CR22 but not entirely sure

2) If anyone has one of these and wants a 6 month old superb sounding unit including ipod cables would you consider a swap of old for new? I have not really seen anything on ebay and even those that have appeared I have been a little nervous about purchasing...

I have both an orginal Porsche Becker CR-22 and an orginal Sony Radio Cassette with CD that came with my 993. They are both surplus to requirments and you are most welcome to try either of them prior to any exchange.

Not sure, but I believe Sony was an option that could be specified at time of purchase. Mine is a XRc500CDS unit with the 6 unit CD changer that fits in the spare wheel. It may be worth checking to see if your unit was an orginal fitment.
 
My 97 C2S had a Porsche branded Becker CR-11 Radio Cassette + 6 Disc Porsche branded Becker Changer in it from new.

I have just replaced it with a very in keeping but infinitely better Becker Grand Prix + iPod adapter.

Sorry but I will be keeping my original unit for resale purposes.
