Radio dead?

Having just recharged my battery and refitted it in what I believe is the correct way to connect it (positive lead first) I now find the radio dead?

I have checked the fuses D8 & D9 and even changed them just to be sure but still no joy.

If I have by some chance managed to short the battery during reconnection is there anything else that could of blown which is relatively easy to replace?
Cheers

Your radio/CD player ( I presume its a CDR22 or later for the model year) is protected with a 4 digit security code which should be in your car's document wallet along with the instuctions on how to reset it in the radio/cd player handbook. try switching the radion on you should get a prompt CODE followed by 4 starts on the display, as you enter the code using the multifunction buttons (1-0) on the front of the unit the stars go out when you get the correct code numbers If you cannot turn it on at all to get the prompt CODE and 4 stars its something else, as you have checked to correct fuses I cannot help further. I presume the car starts and runs ok since the battery change?

You have probably not entered the code after disconnecting the battery. You should have it recorded somewhere on a card.

If you don't have the code then some units have it on a sticker on the side of the case - very security conscious !

Thanks for the suggestions to date, here is a little more info: The radio is totally dead, as in it won't switch on to even let me put the security code in. It is the CDR22 and I have read on another site that there is a fuse in the back of this particular model which could possibly be the problem. Does anyone know if this is obviously visable once the unit is removed or does it need splitting to find it? The car runs ok and everything else is working fine, just the radio that is the problem

My CDR 22 handbook shows a 10Amp blade fuse on the back of the unit to the side of the the two biggest sockets.

Thanks Bryno, that was the problem, have replaced said fuse now i know where to find it [] now have music again [:D]

Brilliant! If you don't mind, I'm going to amend the title of the tread to "Radio dead?" as this will help others who might be searching for the same issue in the future?
