Radio help

Hi all

I purchased a battery brain and fitted over the Christmas holidays, by the way very pleased with the unit, my question is regarding the radio, when I disconnect the battery either manual or remote, then return and reconnect, the radio asks me for the code, I thought I had connected the red (fused) wire supplied to the correct place, has any one installed one of these or can someone point me in the direction of the accessory fuse, many thanks.

Hi Dave,

Can't help with the question but, until your post, I hadn't even heard of a Battery Brain! Interesting idea (having googled it) but why choose that over, say, a battery conditioner, a la CTEK etc to which we leave the 993 (and 997 and 928!) connected (permanently at this time of year!)?

I found the CTEK type conditioner which I used over the winter, resulted in battery failure when the car was left for over 2-3weeks in the summer, I had the car checked for a drain on the battery but non was found, I replaced the battery but then had the climate control fry (condensation) so I decided to look at another way of conserving the battery in the winter, other than physically removing the battery terminal, (the car is kept in the garage over winter), with the battery brain it's all done by remote, set the alarm with central locking and the remotely turn on the battery brain, no wires or 240v to worry about, sounds like an advert but I have no connection to them, I just like the idea.

As with Alan I've not heard of these - but to answer your original question: When connecting it up, even a momentary disconnection of the circuit from battery to radio and back again will cause the radio to ask for the code when next switched on. I've now put my radio's code in my phone so I've always got it to hand (not that I'm in habit of disconnecting often)
