radio loses its settings

I have the standard CD23 unit in my car and have noticed that the base and treble settimgs keep reverting to 0. without me doing this manually. This happens with either the CD or FM settings and usually after the car has been stopped i.e engine switched off.

I need to investigate further as I'm not sure if its doing this every time but on the few occasions when I prefer to listen to music rather than the PSE its a bit of a pain.

Anybody got any similar experiences?

It seems like this is a common problem. Mine does it to. Generally only when i drive a very short distance. Its not a warrnaty item either. However i was advised that there is a possible solution to this by programming the user menus. I think there are two. Ive not tried it yet but it explains how you can set up user profiles in the CDR23 manual [&:]

thanks Steve,

It was after I programmed the user menus I realised it had reset to the default settings, I'll study the manual again to make sure I've locked the settings in.

Steve,

since I reset it last its been ok, long journey down to Ragley and back at the weekend. I haven't done anything different to what I did before so looks like its a random problem. Discovered another issue though, pressed the on/off button to switch off, the display went blank but the sound continued. seems its developed a mind of its own.

Steve,

Discovered another issue though, pressed the on/off button to switch off, the display went blank but the sound continued. seems its developed a mind of its own.

Do you mean that it took a few seconds for the sound to die away?. That's how mine works (it also loses its settings occasionally for no apparent reason).

Used to happen frequently to me, but only in the cold, and i nthe winter and a hard problem to replicate when taking to the OPC.............so far I have not had the same probelms with my retro-fitted PCM2 but only time will tell..........
