Radio sound problem

my radio keeps defaulting back to the factory settings on the sound menu. Does anyone else have this problem. The radio is standard Porsche 2003 with a CD changer attached.

Yes.... All the bloody time... Sometimes it just does it to the radio - sometimes it does it to the CD also.

And sometimes it turns on the AP also.

I suspect this isnt an uncommon issue. I used to have strange problems with the telephone mute on my head unit. I have a nokia car kit that just wouldnt mute the radio.. All of a sudden it started working...

Of course, sometimes it would reset the bass and treble back to 0 and put the balance and fader to -8. Of course, since I got the RMS done, it no longer mutes the radio anymore.

Have this problem too. Randomly resests the sound settings, and very occasionally doesn't produce any sound. OPC checked the head unit and declared it okay. No longer in warranty so now categorised as "annoying but liveable".

Same problem on 05 987S

I have also sent it back to OPC who have tested and given the all-clear

I am going to send it back and ask for a fix under the warranty

seems to be an issue i wonder if thats why radios are specifically excluded from the extended warranty?

I had/have the same problem. Sound menu resetting randomly to default settings, I think radio presets lost also but then I usually only listen to my CDs. Mine is the basic system on a 2003 model. Started as an infrequent event and then became weekly. OPC replaced the headunit under manufacturer's warranty. After a few months the new unit started doing the same thing, random infrequent resets, but this time only on a couple of the sound menu settings. After about a year it got to be a weekly occurance and just as I was about to get it tackled by the OPC again, it stopped completely. That coincided with the arrival of summer weather and I haven't noticed it happen in months.
