I'm planning to replace the aftermarket radio with an original Becker - probably just using the radio and an aux-in
I just wanted your opinion on the wiring..
As you can see, there's an extra wiring harness for the new radio. What confused me was how it worked.
The radio connects via an adaptor to the black and brown sockets - so i first thought it was driving the speakers directly, but....
My car has a separate amp in the front. You can see the factory yellow/green/blue plugs going into a red socket on the RHS of the picture. This then connects via a small PCB into the Brown plug. So I'm thinking that maybe this PCB is taking the speaker outputs and converting them to a line-in signal for the amp?
There's also a separate blue wire (see the scotchblock on top of the black socket) that comes out of aforementioned PCB and is labelled amp/antenna.
What I'm hoping is that I can junk all that wiring and just connect the Becker to the yellow and black plugs.
Does that all make sense?
Thanks
Ed
