Was there a definitive model of stereo/radio that was fitted as standard to early 70s Porsche 911s? Mine is a 72 car and has had a modern unit fitted, which I would like to replace with something in period. Thanks.

Both Becker and Blaupunkt were used - it depends on which market - but there were a choice of options over which model you could go for.

You could pick one up off eBay / autojumble - but if you want a reconditioned unit I can recommend Wagner AutoRadio at http://www.autoradio-wagner.de/

He's definitely not cheap but the quality of his units are wonderful [:)] I have a Europa in mine and it sounds simply fantastic through the single dash speaker (a modern Kenwood unit with a custom housing).
