Hi Guys

saw a little trickle of water under the bumper at the front, the car has gone off to get the small rads replaced
but it got me thinking did anyone get anywhere with that company ZUNsport and their rad grills for the turbo

ah well

emailed them myself and got this reply

Hi Richard, Many thanks for your continued interest in Zunsport products,i can confirm we have completed the the development of the 996 Turbo and they will be available on our website by 30th June 2010.

I contacted Zunsport too Richard. Problem is they theirs fit on the outside which does spoil the look greatly. See this thread for my solution to the problem

As Alan has pointed out it is so much cheaper to pick up a sheet of plasterers wire spray it black then get a body specialist to fit it
saves a lot of money, mine will be done with the bumper being resprayed

I didnt realise, thats a bit pish I thought they bolted in proper like.
Well looks like |I am going to have to get my hands dirty
Shame to many other things occupying my mind at the moment (golf mk3 r32 conversion for one!)

Should have got Tony to do it while he was doing the rads......

I saw your car in there yesterday, when I dropped mine off for a wheel bearing change. (Another saga - don't ask).

yes he did mention something about a squeaky bearing[;)],
odd it's a front one,
i must admit i didnt think, trying to get the porsche useable while the golf has major heart surgery

So it was yours on the ramp when I picked mine up! Lovely car and I have to say I'm extremely impressed with my partner as she spotted the "S" and the ceramics. She's learning!

Shame it's in the second fastest colour though. [;)]

Posting this for Paul -Unclewinks- (because he hasn't worked out the photo thing yet!)

Finally got the car back from a local body specialist, having had the front PU re-sprayed and mesh grills colour coded and fitted,as you can see the mesh was bonded in place with windscreen resin, nice neat job done.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] The mesh I used was builders wire, which is galvanised so if chipped won't rust[FONT=verdana, geneva"] If anybody is interested in the southwest region in Waynes work please pm me[FONT=verdana, geneva"] I will pass on his details[FONT=verdana, geneva"] Paul

Just had both rads replaced under warranty at PC Newcastle this week so a happy bunny. I'm going to have a crack at the DIY as per Unclewinks but wondered what is the best bonding agent,(product name if possible).

I looked in Halfrauds today and the mesh is £24.99 a sheet and may need 2 if I do all 3 apertures including the centre one. couldn't see anything glue/mastic/wise that looked suitable.

On the downside battery looks to be on its way out had a couple of starting failures despite being connected to the CTek tester says battery condition good but low charge, PC sympathetic and if an overnight recharge doesn't sort it will look at warranty claim.

need to get things sorted quckly as of to LeMans for the classic on Thursday morning[:)]

Yes indeed because they all love replacing the rads and will be shocked if they don't get so many booked in because thoughtless owners are protecting them.......[;)]

yep I know guys but won't be renewing in October so keen to get the new replacements protected asap.

Any ideas on the name of the bonding agent and where i can get it?
