Ragley Hall - What happened?

I realize that similar posts will be all over the forums today, and I don't intend to take the same tack and moan about every aspect of the event, but, let's be honest, the level of organization (long delays getting in, unclear and mixed parking areas) and the facilities (food outlets, toilets etc.) were extremely poor this year, and it's not what I've come to expect of PCGB national events.

Enough said...[:(]

To help prevent the "similar posts will be all over the forums today"
it might be worth deleting this and re-posting it in the members only thread already started here:

Why?

This forum is open to PCGB non-members, and Ragley Hall was open to the general public.

Are you suggesting that any comments/feedback/criticism should be for reserved for 'members only', whilst the club is more than happy to open up this forum to non-members in any other circumstance?

It is fine here but I thought when you said "similar posts will be all over the forums today", you actually would have preferred a single thread where you might get some focus and answers. Please leave this open if you feel it is the best way to get a balanced response from members - non-members - forum users - google searchers, etc I just find when there are too many similar threads open on the same subject, only a few get the focus and the rest just die.

All the best

I am also a member and cannot gain access to the "official correct thread " on how poor Ragley was yesterday. Is this due to some form of censorship ? Or perhaps it's the wrong type of leaf in the server ?

Sam,

its because you have missed out a step when registering - you have not put in your Club number, or asked Club Office to set you as a member. lots of people miss this but it gets sorted eventaully

What a complete waste of my Sunday !

Decided at the last minute to take one of my kids for a day out to the great annual gathering of the PCGB only to spend over an hour queuing within striking distance of the place - could even see Ragley Hall up the hill. []

Eventually completely bored son and totally frustrated Dad gave up, managed to get out of the queue, find an escape route and head home. At least we found a nice place to eat and some good roads cross country to exercise the 993.

So thanks for nothing to all those who were responsible for this fiasco.

It's the first time that I've been able to go to the annual gathering. On this evidence, I don't think I'll bother to again.

I spent Sunday being a bit annoyed I couldn't go to Ragley. Sounds like I was fortunate!

You were indeed!

There's a lot of talk about 'lessons learned' on the forum. I can accept that excuse if it's the first (or even the second) time that a National Event has been organised; but it's not, and by now these events should be slick, and should run like clockwork.

Not when they make one of the main show organisers redundant just prior to the main club shows...[:(]

Ravi,

We were looking forward to seeing you this explains it. I've written to PCGB and complained, the local garden centre organises better events!!! [:'(]
