Ben, great photos. Nice to see my old 964 again - still miss her. Chuffed with your 'Noisiest & Sweetest Sounding 964' award.
The car looks fantastic - a credit to you.

Thanks Steve! She's looking a bit different right now, as that was the last outing for the year.. Ive taken her off the road for the winter early (I know, just as the summer starts right?!..) as I'm getting a few jobs done and want to make sure its back together and ready to go as soon as the snow thaws!..

Brake calipers are being reconditioned, suspensions going to bilstien (just down the road from my house) to have spring seats and adjusters replaced and outer tubes cleaned up/re-plated, and Im saving some pennies towards getting the wheels re-finished and the front end sprayed..

Picked the carcoon up for a bargain price, so hopefully it should all be in good nick come the spring..

Ben, are you having the bilsteins done at Centregravity by any chance? And what exact configuration are you thinking of?

no having them done by bilstein in south leicester (cant remember the name of the village, its near croft). They weren't too interested at first, but when I said what I wanted doing they were OK with it. I have the billies with adjustable height spring platforms with H&R springs

basically just having the bodies cleaned up and the spring platforms replaced as a couple of them are a bit crumbly.. Am booking into CG in the spring though for a set-up and am going with RS settings I think; my car is set that way at the moment except 15mm higher for some reason.. going the whole hog in the spring as moving house so not so many speed bumps to worry about!

PS.. if you want their details I have them at work somewhere (their number took a bit of hunting to find)

Very local to me also which is rather convenient. Seem helpful and are at some time over the winter going to build me some upsidedown coilovers for the rear of my early car.

Thats the one!.. All I could think of last night was braunstone or thorpe astley, and I knew neither of them was correct [;)] Eibach are there too, they are on the left as you drive into the ind. est. and they have a trade counter as I brought some replacement springs for my BMW 5'er from there a year or so ago

It sounds like you guys live in the right place when it comes to suspension [:D]. I was just interested in what you're having done (Ben). It sounds like you've got the car pretty much sorted as you want it and are just having it refreshed. Every time I hear of someone doing suspension work I get tempted to go and get a PSS9 kit put on mine (I believe this has to be modded on a pre-91 car). The trouble is my standard dampers and lowered springs are less than 2 years old and the car is performing beautifully on road and track so I need to resist![8D]

the car handles great; obviously I dont know whether it could be better as Ive only driven mine (my other porsche experience's are limited to my old boxster, my godfathers 993GT2, and a mates neighbours 356) however its quite good and doesn't scare me too much.. I think a lot of the "throttle adjustability" is down to the diff [:D]

I'm hoping to do all the bushes over the winter, and the spring/dampers as mentioned, as I think if Im paying for a full set-up I might as well get everything sorted first; I don't want to have to replace some bushes 6months down the line and have to get it all done again!

I might be tempted to make some changes, bit its good under braking, accelerating, cornering, steerings not too heavy, etc., etc. so I'd be reluctant to alter it too much.. Putting it down to RS ride height might just sharpen it up a little more, but I dont think Ill go any further than that
