Rain Guard

I've had a bit of a recce at my current rain guard and one end seems to be attached via the rubber seal that runs along the edge of the bulkhead, but the other seems to be glued on using a black silcoset type of glue, a bit like the stuff you see gluing in windscreens. Has anyone replaced this rain guard? If so is this glue included as a strip along the edge of the guard where you peel back the paper, or do you have to apply it seperately and if so what is the stuff?
