Rain water leak

Hi
I've got rain water coming in and dripping onto the passenger front carpet. The car is an 89 turbo se so battery is in the back. This happens when the car is standing still. I've also got a leak at the back but I thnk its a rear light seal problem. Can I buy just the seals?
Also my 84 2.5 lux is for sale if anyone is intertested.
Thanks

If it's coming in above the glovebox check the scuttle drains are clear and that the fusebox is sealed properly in its opening.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Rear light seal comes on a long roll of and is therefore pricey. Richard who does clear lenses recently settled on Dum Dum putty as a good solution.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Just finished fitting my new rears - Dum Dum is definatly the stuff to use .(Thanks Richard). Not sure how well it sets though. Could be a problem getting them off again. Only time will tell....

Hi Q,

My car use to get wet in the passenger footwell in heavy rain while standing still. I cured the problem by thoroughly cleaning the drain holes out. Use a metal coat hanger and ensure you can poke it all the way through.

The plastic coated wires that were used to hang net curtains are almost perfect diameter for the sun roof drain tubes.

In the scuttle if you look down you'll see a seam to the outside of the fuse box (and equivalent the other side). The seam actually forms an edge with a hole under it, and that is the scuttle drain.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]There are several other drains - one each corner of the sunroof hole (but be very careful with these as you don't want to push the rubber tube off the nipple...) and one each in the boot catch recess.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Other good drains to clear are the ones in the door bottoms, which are under the rubber seal slightly and the ones in the sills which sit behind the plastic finisher strip.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

I resealed my rear lights with clear bathroom sealant yesterday.... couldnt be bothered with doing it properly... that'll have to wait until I clear enough junk out of the garage
