Rare colour for a 986 - How many left?

Good Evening.

This is my first post since joining last November, when I just bought my first Boxster, a 1998 2.5 986.

The colour of the car is Ocean Jade Metallic, which was only available on the 2.5 (and 996s of the same period)
From other forums, I’ve been told that only 700 Boxsters were made in this colour.

Would the Admins of the Register (or anyone) know how many were sold in the UK, and perhaps how many are currently registered with the PCGB please?

A friendly wave to anyone who is a fellow "OceanJader” of course.

regards
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan
Welcome to the club and the Boxster register.
I don't have the statistics for the UK figures but there is currently only 1 Boxster on my database registered in Ocean Jade.
This doesn't mean that there are not more in the club as not everyone gives us their details. Also some members just put the colour down as "green" and there was also rainforest green available at the time.
Regards
Tracy

Snapped this one at Porsche in the Glen last august - is this the same colour?

Interesting that the one above is a 3.2, although I can only ever recall seeing the 2.5 in this colour.

That one comes along to a few shows in and around Glasgow .A few years ago nearly bought a 996 Cab in the same colour and it had the same colour interior leather which I think this one also has.

Re: Post#3, the corresponding interior was called Nephrite, another form of Jade. It is probably even rarer than the exterior colour, but here is a silver S so equipped:

Re: Post#1, the contemporary 911 was indeed available in Ocean Jade but was rarely supplied in it:

that is Ocean Jade. but R88 OXR definitely wasn’t originally an "S”, as OJ only came on the 2.5s

A small clue is there is no silver trim around the dials. I suspect an engine replacement possibly?
