Rarther annoyed to say the least........

Enjoyed the Porsche festival very much, and opprached the porscheshop stand with some pocket money.

My wife bought me some Porsche cuflinks and I started asking if i could get my wheels to sit out a tad further as there is still plenty of room to improve the track.....

Anyway these so called proffesionals asured me that 9mm shims for my car are the way forward, would fit my existing nuts and threads, and would and improve the look and hadling.

After fitting the shims and threading 3 of the alloy wheel nuts realised i had been given some very bad and dangerous advice, not to mention sold a "PUP"

I have seeked advice from now more reputable Porsche dealers and have come to the conclusion they should not be selling these shims, they are to big for the threads and are dangerous.

After phoneing Porscheshop i got pushed pillar to post (please call back later we are busy) offering no help.

They are now removed and new wheel nuts bought at the cost of dangerous very bad advice.

I expect the cuflinks to fall apart at there first use........

My gripe is this, how can a reputable Porsche parts dealer such as the said company get away with this kind of advice............its not acceptable.

Rant over

Tell them you'll be writing an article for the Porsche Post, that might prompt some action from them

They're not "specialists" and never have been. They just sell bits and pieces as far as I reckon. You're better off talking to a reputable service specialist or Porsche about such potentially damaging (to you!) advice. [&:]

sorry to hear that Lee....

although not the first time they have come up for bad service

quite frankly that is down right dangerous and irresponsible to recommend the same OEM bolts on 9mm spacers ! at that width they ain't shimms !!! []
