Rattle from front dash air vent

hello

I have a very annoying rattle from my front dash air vent which blows air onto the windscreen as soon as you put your finger in it the rattle stops, I have even tried wd40 but no luck and to drive with my finger in it is not sensible.

I have had it replaced a few years back but it's back again.

Any more thoughts would be good to hear how I could solve this niggle maybe some one has had the same problem?

Thanks Phil

Had a similar problem, as I understand it the parts in the grille largely snap together to form a matrix framework, and occasionally a bit gets displaced and flaps about - my local indy took it to bits, and put it back together again (no other parts required) and its been fine since; patience and fine motor dexterity required I suspect!

My car does the same and its slowly getting worse. I find that if I have my finger pressing on the middle bit where the alarm LED is it solves the problem. I have been looking into trying to solve the problem by unclipping the lot but as with any trim, I'm always afraid that I will make the problem worse if anything breaks. Interestingly the noises are worse when warm air is blowing through the vents.
