I have just received a phone call from Ray's wife Lin. Ray sadly passed away in the early hours this morning. He was at home and in no pain.
Although it was inevitable it is still a shock to think he will not be at any events this year.
I am sure we all wish to pass on our sincere condolences to Lin and the family.
I will post again when I have details of the funeral arrangements.
Regards
Keith Reid

This is really sad news, myself and Mike were only talking about Ray yesterday and wishing him well [:(]
He always had time for a natter and was passionate about cars in general, but especially Porsche's and MK2 Escorts.

RIP Ray, you may be gone but you will never be forgotten by those who were lucky enough to have met you.

Such Sad news... Sending our deepest sympathy & thoughts for Lynn and his family at this sad time.

Despite knowing how poorly Ray has been, it still comes as a sad blow to learn of his passing.

I still have fond memories of trying to keep up with his 964 on a drive with Jeremy over the Yorkshire hills - Ray had the skill, we had the technology! The tractor we met abruptly had neither!

Our thoughts to Lynn and Ray's family.

Deeply saddened to hear this-our thoughts are with Lynn at this time-he will be sadly missed.

Yes a great loss to the club, and particularly R18. Ray was a true gentleman with a wicked sense of humour. I have sent Lynn a card on behalf of R18. If you wish to send one yourself please e-mail me(R18@porscheclubgb.com), or phone my mobile (details in PorscheFile) for her address. My BT line has been out of action since last Saturday and may be out until Wednesday/Thursday (if I'm lucky)

I will get details of the arrangements from Keith Reid and forward on.

Ray is also a great loss to the Display Register and of course to us personally. Our sympathies go to Lin and all his family.

When we were once looking for a silver 964 for the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone he offered to drive down (at very short notice) from Lancashire to help us out.
After that they just rang him up whenever they wanted his car and gave him another car to drive delivered to his house. He had four of these events and he obliged on each occasion. We think his favourite other car was a brand new Panamera which he took to France on holiday. He also got to drive a Boxster (twice) and a Cayman.

RIP Ray. You will be sadly missed. The drive around the Evo triangle will never be the same !
