put it up on local rollers today,286.6 bhp at fly,and 232 at wheels, torque 339.6

on standard topaz fuel,up 16 bhp up from mantheys rollers, only difference is oe airbox back on,knew the open airbox felt slower just more noise

would think with good fuel would be close to 300 bhp

Sounds good. Is the engine standard? When was it rebuilt? just curious you understand. Not put mine on the dyno yet....

Well for comparison, a slightly strengthened almost standard engine with Motec, wound up to 317 BHP at 6000 and 307 Ft Lbs at 4800 rpm ... at ChipWizards (Wayne Schofield).

Not bad for a 1991 3.6 ... [;)] ... but I need it [:D]

all standard engine internals, only mods are 993 airflow meter cat bypass sport silencers(dansk) k&n airfilter and fvd remap in 1995,engine has 96000km,no smoke and still pulls strong,i bought it with 68000km over 3 years ago and have changed oil more than needed

anyone know there at wheel figure?

These engines are the cream of crop! 2006 mine was remapped at 9m and dyno'd, three years and 10,000km later, put back on the same dyno and the only variance between the 2 curves could be down to a change in atmospheric conditions.
I think I;m wearing out faster than the car!

Hacki,
We should start a club for degenerate RS owners! Or perhaps I mean degenerating[;)]

Nope! first option sounds like more fun!

Tony

Tony,

being degenerate is mandatory for buying a RS, the classic conditio sine qua non! But, yes, it´s fun. Would love to be a club member.[;)]

If you want your car to wear out faster than yourself, buy British![:D] (My apologies to anybody taking me serious!)

Hacki

(Just bought an American car)

A swore I'd never buy another British car a few years ago when after 2 months the altenator fell of my new Discovery in the middle of Scotland!

Mind you it's hard to tell these days when f'rinstance the new 4 door Aston, Lagonda whatever is built in Austria!

Tony

I've ONLY EVER bought German cars - Porsche, Volkswagen, BMW.

BUT, my Golf R32 has had three quite major warranty claims since I bought it - the first was a few weeks into ownership, and the last one 2 weeks ago would have cost me over £2,000 if I was paying the bill (£200 part plus 18hrs at £102p/h !).

My warranty ends in May 2010 - I'm now thinking about buying Japanese. [&:]

[:)] Seems as if I´ve started something.

I´m ready for a new quality experience with my American car.....[:D]

Ok Hacki,
