Re: hand controls for driving.

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone on here had any issues similar to myself and if so what they have investigated:

I have a little arthritis in both hips, would it be possible to adapt/buy a device for my car (if required in the future), that would allow me to still drive my "manual" 993, at present the arthritis only hurts after a longish walk but think it may be getting worse, thus may get my car adapted and get used to them for ease !.

I have heard via email from a chap who has done this to many cars including porsches, fitted hand controls for clutch, brake and accelerator, just have to change style of driving and adapt oneself.

Just wondered if anyone on the forum had done this !, I know a tiptronic would be an option but don't really want to go down this route at present - especially as i have the car how i want it - all fixed to almost concours.

Many thanks in advance.

Nick.
993 carrera, manual gearbox.
