whilst our 944 was on the ramps during its MOT I noticed the connectors for the read brake pad sensors were out of their clips. I tried unsuccessfully to clip them back in . and now the pad warning light is on .
pads are all a good thickness. so its a cable problem..

I am looking for a break or a short causing this. ? I.e how are they sensed

any helps gratefully received

take care all

As Riverside says, an open circuit shows a fault condition. You can therefore delete the sensor function by stripping back the two wires where they come from the plug and connecting them together. This will stop the annoying light on the dash until you get new sensors. If you regularly check your brake pad wear by eye, you may decide not to bother replacing them - your choice!
