I hope no one minds but I have put a post and open invitation in the general section of the forum.
I have done too may miles in the new acquisition this month so it will have to be the 924 turbo this weekend.

Paul,

I am hoping to be there.

How long does it last - may be a struggle for me to get there for 10?

Cheers,

Ian

Hi Paul, I'll try to get there to show a degree of support to Fab (tho' I recognise that he may not be there)

Regards

Bob

I will possibly be along out of support to Fabien "" he is aware that normally I would not attend Reading OPC meets "" after working there most of the week the last thing I want is to go back on a Saturday. After all of Fabien's efforts arranging these meetings I hope to be able to attend.

I am disappointed "" as I am sure Fabien would be - that out of 77 hits only 4 members have advised that they will attend. Thank you to those who have replied.

I do not know what has been arranged for Saturday as I was advised today that Kevin (the after sales manager) will not be back until Monday.

If I hear anything new tomorrow I will post in the evening.

Claire and I will try to be there. We have an appointment at Solus first - but we don't know how long we'll be...

Im hoping to be there but cannot confirm as yet.

So where has Fab gone ?
I will also add that IMO Fab did a great job last year and the R19 concours was the largest P-car gathering ive seen at Basildon Park since 2000.

I have been advised of the format for tomorrow:

Zymol demonstration

Free inspection for your car

Courtesy car wash ie: service wash and hoover

Tea / coffee and biscuits

Something to watch on the big screen "" possibly Le Mans + other

Tour of workshop etc.

There is a possibility of something else but I am not allowed to say / hint etc.

I hope to see many of you there "" Please support Fabien in his (hopefully temporary) absence and of course Porsche Centre Reading who need input from Porsche Club members so they can try to supply the service we require for all models old and new.

Sorry I cannot make it due to other commitments (I warned my brother about getting married, but did he listen?). I will support R19 in some shape or form in the coming months.

Enjoy your day.

Cool! Thanks for the update Paul!!

See you you all tomorrow!! [:D]

Thanks

J.

Sorry Paul, best laid plans and all that.

I hope you got the message I left with Richard at service that we had a little problem this morning that prevented us coming along.

Sorry about that. [&o]
Next time...

Hi Mark, yes thanks I got the message from Richard.
Sorry to hear of your woe's Mark [:(] "" hope it's not too expensive.

OPC has asked for info regarding what Porsche Club members would like for the next and future meetings.
So come on everybody let us know what you want from an OPC visit and they will try to accommodate you.

Hi - Made it late this morning after a flat battery (story of my ownership so far...).
More of the same please! But it wasn't clear, at the stage I arrived, what the plan was, so maybe put up a flipchart or something to explain it. The zymol demo was great - if only it was my car that got the treatment - but it did inspire me to give mine a good seeing to with a clay bar and some decent polish (at some point). How about the OPC doing a sessiion to look at things like condition of suspension, wheel alignment etc. On a numer of occasions I've seen forum threads that talk about changing dampers as the first thing one should do to improve one's car. Do I need new dampers? Is my car handling the way it should? Seems OK to me but I hope I'm not missing out on something! But without expert help, how would I know? Happy for my car to be the guinea pig for that one.

Cheers, Craig

In reply to Craig:

No one took up the offer of a free service wash and hoover[&:]

A few had their cars in the diagnostic bay for the free inspection

Some very very lucky old git was very fortunate in having his car used for the Zymol demonstration[:)] (I even had to get there an hour early to get the car washed first "" oh what a sacrifice)[:D]

Unfortunately the workshop tour had to be cancelled because the DP insisted that nobody was allowed to see the new Cayenne prior to the launch next week. The fact that PCGB have cars on the road (56 registration) and cars were going in and out all morning (and last week) on test seems to have been overlooked.

Thank you to all of you who attended and supported Fabien and the OPC "" I believe there were about 25 in all and Porsche and the Park Ferme/Zymol rep seemed pleased with the attendance and interest shown.

So come on everybody, Craig has started off the suggestions for future visits. I need to know what you all would like Porsche to put on "" within reason of course "" for our future meetings. I need details within the next couple of weeks to pass on to Porsche Centre Reading. Please note I am NOT, and have no intention of, taking over these visits but just assisting Fabien whilst he is busy elsewhere.
