The timing cover is back on ours, but the condenser decided to go - just to scare us after we'd had the engine apart! It started this morning and hopefully we can get stuck into the cosmetics when I've sorted the timing. At least the engine is clean now - whether it will power it to the NEC is another matter!

don't know where you live but if its not too far from the NEC then if the cars playing up give me a ring (no in green pages of pp under region 8) and we'll come and fetch it with the trailer if need be.

Thanks, but we're in Southampton! I'm sure it will make it though. We've got breakdown cover, so if I can get it a few miles down the road we could get taken the rest!!! See you there.

So it's going! Took it for a test drive and it's running better than ever, and with a speedo now! I think it is pinking slightly even though I've set the timing with a stoboscope - maybe it could do with some lead additive.

I'm not too clever at pictures on forums, so here's a link to my ones little heart during and after triple bypass surgery.
