Ready to cry....

Well,

after a week in the bodyshop getting the front half of thecar painted at a cost of £900 I picked the car up on Friday - looked gorgeous ! Parked up in Wilmslow on Saturday, and came back to the car to find an enormous crease in the driver's wing where some thoughtless b*****d had opened their door into it. Am totally and utterly fed up....

Can anyone recommend a dent removal company in Cheshire to return my smile ???

sorry to hear that mate. I know how gutted you feel as it happened to me. Its getting to the point where I have seriously thought about getting an old beat-up Pajero with bull bars and get some payback on the local lanes where no barsteward ever slows down to pass []

Arrg []

Try your bodyshop first, they may know a very good local PDR guy (Panitless Dent Repair) but a crease on the front wing is in an awkward place for PDR. No easy access behind the panel and it will be covered in thick underseal so very difficult for the dent guy to 'feel' where his tools are.

Failing a recommendation call http://www.dentdevils.co.uk/ for your nearest operator. Ask him how long he's been doing it (the local guy to me is 10 yrs plus and is superb), and get his opinion on how invisible the repair will be.

Well this is not intended to be a slight on women drivers generally, just SOME of the women drivers of Wilmslow of which I feel qualified to comment as I know Wilmslow very very well. It was probably some young wannabe WAG in daddy's Chelsea Tractor (probably a Ceyenne)that is way way too big for her, looking in the shop front of Hoopers while manouvering. She probably wasn't even aware that she'd hit you. Realise this is a sweeping stereotypical generalisation but I bet i'm right!

Scott, you beat me to it!

I'd wager the cost of filling said Chelsea Tractor's tank that you're right!

I'm feeling mad about it and it's not even my car!

"Country's going to the dogs.... " wanders off, grumbling to himself

my girl friend works for honda they use very good guys ill get the name and number for u

Thanks guys - I'm feeling better already. Have made a pledge since moving over the border from Yorkshire that I must never, ever own a 4x4 living in Cheshire unless I take up farming !

As I'm new to the forum I'll post some pictures of the car on the site as soon as I'm able to look at the car without shaking with rage....

It's like a curse.
Within a week of getting mine re-sprayed etc some tosser fired a bottle/brick./rock off a bridge and smashed my bonnet which I then had to get re-done.
After fitting a new windscreen a shone smacked off it within 20 miles.
It's all fixed again.
Since then, someone has opened a door on it (no damage), someone banged their golfing buggy battery (they weigh a ton) off the rear quarter and someone has scuffed the paint at the front where they reversed into me. Of course, no-one in any of these occasions left a number or anything for me.
I've become cynical as a result.

Perhaps we should set up some kind of support group - I'd suggest a decent pub as the therapy centre...

here u go m8

the dent man , steve on 07976370773

or

these guys do work for honda so should be good

Similar for me. The only panel on the car that was perfect, spot on colour, no defects or dings was driven into by bloke in galaxy/sharan type thing (about 3 years ago).

He didn't see it because its too low and apparently my fault for parking where he wasn't expecting a car. The guy NEVER used his side mirrors to reverse just looked out the back over the seats!

Cost him 400 quid so at least he was decent and paid up but one has to wonder about ppl that drive big vehicles like its a tiny runaround.

Bad luck - I feel so sorry for you.

Visit the nearest office of your local constabulary, make a formal complaint of criminal damage and failure to stop and report an accident and ask them to investigate including getting CCTV images. You never know, perhaps a picture including the registration number might turn up. But don't hold your breath ....
