Managed to do do a deal with Humphries in Shinfield, Reading. They were quoting £175 each until i started walking away telling them i can get them cheaper at Bracknell tyres. Negotiated £298 for the pair.

I challenge anyone to have done better than that for rear 996 N4 tyres.

sounds like a good price. what size are you talking here?

I have 285/30/18 on my rears as the GT3 styles.

cheers

Hi Nick,

They are 265/35/ZR N4. 18". I think yours maybe a tad more. But it does show that they are willing to negotiate.

298 is not the price for 285s!

I have contis on mine and they came in at 360 for the pair. still good though.

The P zeros seem to get good press in the forums, I'm on michelin pilot sports and doing 17k miles per year whuihc includes a lot of motorway driving. Any views on the tyre life for the P zeros compared to the pilot sports ?

I'm sure this Q has been asked and answered before, but I'm new, so go easy... [:)]

What's the difference between N4 and N3 - I'll be needing some new rubber on my C4 in the next few weeks and was hunting down prices on Pirelli P Zero N3's...

TIA

Thanks Mark. But (and I apologise if this is a really stupid Q) but where do I find the FAQ section in General...? I'm still finding my way around the site...TIA.

While we're talking wheels and tyres; I have a 996 (2003, 14k miles) with Carrera five spoke alloys. There are one or two 'blisters' on some of the inner flat parts of the wheels which are visable through the spokes. My car is under warranty - which runs out in June this year! Does anyone know if I would get any joy asking OPC to sort it out under warranty, or am I dreaming?! I've put some of my Zymol on the wheels too, any other suggestions for protection and is it ok to wax my alloys? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Q: What is the significance of the marking N0, N1, N2, N3 on Porsche tyres?
A:
N0, N1, N2, and N3 markings identify the tyre version approved for specific Porsche models. These markings do not necessarily correspond between different tyre brands approved by Porsche.

Ring Bracknell tyre and Battery for the cheapest quote for P-Zeros and use that quote against your nearest supplier.

No problem at all! All good deals welcome [:)] (Besides gaxor and Jeff are the moderators in the 996 section[:D])
Elite Garages (0845 4581080) have always done me well - and they are Sponsors for many Club events.
There are others to try as well - ProTyre etc. Phoning around is a good eye opener. []
