Rear Badges

I've managed to inflict some damage to the rear lid on my 987 (scratched by ladder in garage!), meaning it needs to be repainted. I plan to remove the lid from the car and do as much of the prep work that I can myself. What I'm not sure of however, is how to safely remove the BOXSTER S script. I presume they are glued in place, but I don't want to cause even more damage by trying to prise them off. Does anyone know how to remove them, and (hopefully) reapply them after the respray.

A favourite of ours for removing badges is teeth floss - this leaves a residue behind which can normally be gently rubbed off. Warm water helps with removing the residue.

....and before removing make up a card template so you know where to locate it when refixing.

Use a hair dryer to heat up the badge and soften the glue first then use dental floss or similar to remove badge . 3m do a fine double edge tape to re apply.

No Dental floss? Try small diameter fishing line[;)] Plus kitches hair dryer tip above.
We all know Boxster /Spyder owners carry a hair dryer in the car :ROFLMAO:

Many thanks for all the tips - I'll have a go over the weekend and let you know how I get on.
In reply to kitchens, wish I had enough hair left to warrant investing in a hair dryer! Fortunately the wife has one for use in emergencies like Porsche badge removal!!

Success!
Judicious use of hair dryer and dental floss did the trick.
Thanks again for everyones advice.
