rear blower bypass pipe

I want to fit the rear blower bypass pipe to a 90 c4 coupe,physically this is easy but how do you retain the function of the heating system and remaining front blower motors? Is it by placing a dummy load where the old rear blower wiring is to make the control unit think it's still there because when the pipe is fitted the front blowers only blow when the temp control knob is turned down cold, resulting in no heating!And the fault code indicated suggests the rear blower is at fault.
Does anybody know the soloution

If you go to http://www.porsche964.co.uk/ in the technical section there's an article by Bill Gregory - Heater Fan removal. This explains what you need to do. Basically the HVAC shuts down if it determines the engine compartment fan isn't working (the fault code you see). This mod puts a resistor into the circuit to fool the system into thinking the fans ok. It works too, although obviously the heater output is not so good.

I'd try the solution on the Rennlist forum using the jumper cable before messing around trying to build a circuit with a resistor etc. I've never been able to prove it, but I'm reasonably convinced that the resistor solution is only relevant for cars with a/c which is unlikely to be an issue for an RS !
