Rear boot lid won't open?

i have a 2000 boxster and the boot lid won't open i can hear the motor but won't release any ideas, can hear the motor moving but the lid won't move, is there an emergency cable any where like the front??
any help woold be great

There is a cable similar to the one for the front.

You maybe able to get to it without removing the rear bumper. This link should help in locating it (albeit it shows the bumper removed):

Many thanks TOP information have just found the release cable opened the boot and found the cable snapped off the unit, repaired cable temp ok FANTASTIC info
