I have posted a couple of times as a guest but after visiting the PCGB stand at the NEC show decided to join up as a full member and use the sight to its full potential.
would love to have a go at posting pic of the car but sadly my pc ability is poor are there any easy destructions for this.

MY PROBLEM.
I had the rear pads and discs replaced recently on my 02 996 Turbo.
the invoice says sebro discs but no name of pad possibly pagid.
the work was completed by my local garage not porshe but great very knowledgable guys and personal friends.
the parts were from euro car parts.
almost imediately developed a bad squeal that will not go away.
we have
changed pads for different make ate i think.
changed anti squeal shims for new ones both times
used small amount of evo stick on shims to pad (advice of porsche indi )
even tried the old trick of using dremel to just take the edge of pad all round edge.
travelled over one thousand miles to give them chance to bed in. ( a pleasure not a pain like the rest of the job)

The Result
Still squeal nothing i seem to do helps and makes no differance better or worse .
am i missing something. pleas help with some advice or cure.

cant seem to get pic on tried the photo bucket and the add image on post but does not seem to work.
help please.

Mick,
On the photobucket site below the picture you want will be a number of "tags". Right click on the "direct link" tag and the left click "copy".
On the forum select reply as usual to make a post. Right above the typing box on the right is a yellow envelope icon. Left click on that and a window will open. In the box that appears right click and then select "paste". That should copy the photobucket link into that box and click "ok" Then the photo should magically appear! Hope that works for you!

MY 996 TURBO............................... THANKS TSCAPTAIN IT WORKED

You don't mention if you've performed a bedding-in procedure, so, assuming you haven't, you might want to follow the advice here The section headed "Bedding-in Street-Performance Pads" would seem to apply.

Thanks Nic for your advice. i have read a few of these bedding in procedures, but they all seem to refer to the front pads and not the rears. As one did mention that to get the rear up to temp you would boil the fronts.

VERY BAD TODAY SPOILING THE DRIVE
Mick

The rears can be made to get pretty hot - I've had smoke comming off them after 20 hard laps of Snetterton, although I do understand what you mean. You could try changing the pads to something else, such as Pagid RS29's - quite a hard endurance pad but I've never heard people complain of squeal with them.
