Rear Bridge Spoiler Hatch Seals

Hi All
I have recently bought a complete original bridge spoiler including glass hatch from a 968 for my 944 Turbo.

I am having the spoiler painted to match the body colour, but on getting my car back from Tech 9 today after a service and few other bits I notice there is slight differences in the rubber seals on the two hatches.

The bridge one has no seals at all, the original rubber spoilered hatch has a small lower rubber seal and lock seals.

My question is do I need these on the bridge spoiler hatch or are those seals to stop water coming in due to the drip holes in the rubber spoiler?

Thanks in advance

Is it not that the 968 one will have the later hatch pins which superceded the 944 ones? I can't remember the difference as I have never changed them, but I'm sure somebody who has done will comment.

I'm not sure what you will have to do, but.

968 has the lock surrounds seals mounted on the car.

944 has them mounted onto the hatch.

Perhaps the seals off your now spare 944 hatch will fit on the 968 hatch?

My bridge spoiler S2 has seals on the hatch around the pins (rubber blocks) as well as a long 'strip' seal which sits against the top of the rear panel and is visible when looking at the rear of the car. It also has seals in the catch 'holes' in the top of the rear panel. Even with all of these seals water still gets into the locks - but drains away through the drain pipes in the bottom of the locks - so I would suggest you do need the seals to keep the amount of ingress to a minimum.

I got a new hatch lock and pins from Exeter OPC a couple of months ago they were identical to the originals. Anyone got a picture of a 968 hatch lock and pins ?

Cheers
