Rear bumper and side rubbing strips

Yes to both. I think the more common thing to do with the rear bumper is buy a lightweight racing one that doesn't have the rubber strip.

Ben - Removing the side rubbing strips is fairly straightforward providing you use due care when taking them off. I used a paint scraper when I took mine off to repaint my car...just go easy enough to break the tape that holds them on and they will just lift off easy. The rear bumper strip will have about 11 bolts ( if memory serves ) holding it on...take them off and its an easy job to fill the holes. You will have to cut the threaded tow bar that will be protruding now the rubber strip is gone...an angle grinder will cut that back for you easy.....fill the holes and prime/paint! I did this on my car as I feel it looks way nicer especially as my car is white.

I drilled really large holes with a hole saw. Its far lighter now, but its still of some use. Im yet to see a GRP rear bumper that is of any practical use.

Thanks for the advice chaps. I'm in two minds whether to do it now or wait for the readies to have a full respray - decisions, decisions...
