Rear bumper repairs

No, I haven't had an accident!! I noticed recently that two of the threaded holes in the bumper used to mount the rear valance are partially stripped. I suppose that the easiest in-situ repair is to fit heli-coil thread inserts, but are there any other solutions out there? It strikes me that, given how thin the bumper is, the best arrangement might be an insert shaped like a top hat. Inserted from inside the bumper and threaded externally to screw to the bumper and internally to take the valance screws. Does such a thing exist?

I had the same problem and I just drilled the offending holes out and nut and bolted the valence on.

Thanks Baz,
I think that this option was about number 3 on my list because I wanted to do a proper repair. You could say, though, out of sight out of mind!! Any other ideas on this one?
