Rear Bumper strip

I have a couple of questions ref the black rubber moulding on the rear bumper.
Looking at PET it appears as though the moulding has the bolts attached which then go though the holes in the bumper and are held in place by a washer and lock nut. Is this correct ? And
can anyone confirm how may bolts hold the moulding onto the bumper, it looks like there are eight or may be ten?

Thanks

Howard

Hi Howard,

There are 10 fixing points and yes they all go through the bumper and are held in place with nuts/washers. M6 or M8 nuts if I remember correctly.

Be careful if you're removing this rubber strip. 8 out of 10 of mine were rusted on and snapped off when I tried to remove them. A new rubber stips is quite expensive. I've decided to fill the holes and re-sprayed the rear bumper - that was cheaper than buying a new rubber strip. [:)]

Why are you removing it?

Cheers, Sonny

Hi Sonny, was this a fairly straight forward job? I assume you glassfibre the rear side and filler the front? Thank
