rear bumpers and boot lock

Hello

Been a while since I posted last :/ getting distracted by other things of late and work.
But the other day I had a little bit of a mishap on a narrow country lane while doing a 3point turn in very thick fog.

I now need to replace the rear bumper I think :( just want to make sure that all 944 rear bumpers the same?
Then to look for one in decent nick and guards red.

*Edit while I remember*
My boot lock has also decided that it no linger wants to release the hatch.
When turning the key or using the button in the drivers foot well you can hear the mechanism moving but not releasing. When it comes to sorting this will it be new boot mechanisms and hatch pins?
If so how hard it it to get the mechanism to release?

Thanks
Will

Your best bet is to do the 944 shuffle into the boot space with a torch and peel back the carpet to see what is going on. Get an accomplice to press the hatch release button a few times and watch what the linkages are doing until you figure out where the fault is. Once you know which bit is faulty you can release the hatch by twisting the levers on the bottom of each release mechanism with your fingers.

Edited to add that the long rod which runs from the motor to the linkage is retained in the linkage by a small white plastic clip. If this clip is broken or has fallen off, you get what you have described. So look for that clip first.

Done that and the mechanism on the locks.isn't completing its rotation when helped with doing so it still doesn't release :/

Have you popped the rods off each release mechanism and tried twisting the lever? That would take the linkages out of the equation and give you maximum possible rotation of the lever. Might need an accomplice to do some upward pursuading on the hatch simultaneously.
