Rear compartment roller cover

Does anyone have a solution to replace the rear 'roller blind' cover. I've had the end caps break on both a 924 and now my 944? What do other owners do to get round this problem?

call PorscheApart - Paul, working for Simon Butterworth, was doing an exchange system refurbishing old ones. IIRC they were about £40 if he had them in stock. I had one off them last year when I was driving a 924.

I've had my car since January and just found the rear roller two weeks ago. You could have had mine for free and i wouldn't've noticed[:D] .

I wonder how many other 'bits' of my car i haven't found yet...

Have you found the rear screen washer jet?[8|]

I still haven't looked at the engine under the rear carpet, never mind the rear washer jet[;)]

A previous owner of Beaky screwed a roller blind to the back of the seats. Not a problem, except they are split rear seats and, by joining the seats together, removed that facillity.

The blind was broken anyway and had to go. I now just have the blind vinyl material on its defunct roller which I hoock on at the tailgate in the conventional way and roll forward over any lugage. This works well for me an has the added advantage of being able to use the blind as a plastic sheet if putting anything muddy/cruddy/dusty in the boot.

The little black end pieces that break have a Porsche Part# and are available from the dealer still. If they don't have them in stock, they can order them for you. In the US they cost less than $10 for the pair. Remove the old broken ones, install the new ones, and you now have a working cover. Cheap, easy fix.

Your cars looking a bit snazzy now Tifosiman, you've been busy. Where did you get your front splitter?
Sorry, off thread so..erm..yeah! try e-bay.

(sorry for the OT digression as well)

Hey, thanks! Yes I have been busy! I assume you looked at the photos on my link?

The splitter came from a company called AIR ( www.americaninternationalracing.com ). I bought it second hand from a fellow Porsche owner who went to a splitter from www.gt-racing.com .

The car only has about 1.5 inches of clearance now with the splitter, so it makes roadkill something to steer round...........[:'(]
