Well Thanks to some nice lady today my baby will be off the road being repaired!
Rear ended on the Carholme roundabout on the A46, Witnesses said she didnt even put her brakes on before she hit me!

Not amused

Hell mate, sorry to hear the news, your the second rear end in a fortnight from the club, both on the A46 and both ladies that didn't see the cars had stopped. Mmmm do I see a trend forming. Hope you get everything sorted, do I see a jump to 911 looming closer?

Taking car in tomorrow to see what damage has been done. Looks like the panel behind rear bumper has gone. As well as pu and exhaust has been shutted a little. If Lynn had her way a 911 c4s in black or lapis blue would be the next car. But will she put up half the money. Don't think so.

Hi Steve, Sorry to hear of yet another rear ender, just so many who shouldn't be allowed behind a wheel these days and that roundabout is one of the better ones around Lincoln! I used to have a 2000 3.2S and strangely enough I last saw it twice on Carholme Road, Lincoln not the same one is it? W576JJW in Zenith Blue a terrific car.

Buddy mines orient red, I have not seen any other boxsters in Lincoln apart from black and silver. Been today for estimate I don't know if the repair company ( brooklands) are milking it but say requires new rear bumper, rear bumper bar, all rear heat shields, new exhaust plus paint and usuals eg number plate. Do I push my luck and ask them for the own sport exhaust? :). has anybody ever used Albany assit ? They are dealing with the claim from Admiral.

Sorry to hear that Steve. Mine was other 'rear ender' that Gavin mentioned also on the A46 near Lincoln. Message to all.... STEER CLEAR OF THIS STRETCH OF ROAD OR DRIVE MISS DAISY! Mine is due to be started at the body shop today (Advance Accident Repair, Chesterfield). I rang Porsche Sheffield and this was the one Porsche approved bodyshop they had listed at theirs at JCT closed last year (probably due to high labour rate). I've added a link for you Steve, seem a really professional outfit. Labour rate is Ă‚ÂŁ65/hr +the dreaded VAT hope your total is less than my damage at just under Ă‚ÂŁ18k's worth! Good job I'm not paying for it! cheers Graeme

Sorry Steve missed off the link! [link=http://www.advanceaccidentrepair.co.uk/]advance accident repair[/link]

Steve, there's another post tonight about a new Porsche Approved repairer in Lincolnshire so check that out but the high costs of such a repair may cause your car to be written off as a Cat D so it may be possible to get paid out as a write off and buy it back to have a less expensive repair. Doesn't sound nice I know but a 2000 3.2 S even though they are a good car doesn't have a high book value and that's what they go on.[:(]

Steve - Have you got your car sorted & repaired as I am at AW Repair Group in Sleaford which are a brand new Porsche approved body centre; just been nominated & awarded by Porsche. Give them a ring 08448486670. Ask for A.ndrew

Well a bit of a drawn out experience. The assistance I got from my insurers was not good repair at local body shop shop offered and credit agreements to sign :( . Recieved a call from the third party insurers and they have got car into Porsche approved repairers llyods in Manchester. Collected in covered trailer and dropped e250 cabriolet off until repaired. No credit agreements no hassle just good service. A lesson to learn here for me I think.

That's a shame Steve, I was at AW repair group today, quite an impressive set-up and huge!. I have just started negotiation to have the 993 stripped and complete respray; I feel she is worth it. Watch this space for outcome, I am quite excited at the prospect and found the people very warm and friendly.

Or in my case - front ended! My 912 was attacked by a well-prepared Volvo Amazon on the recent Cape to Cape Tour whilst we were trying to recover a Merc that had ended up stuck in a field. (Long story!) But the Amazon had steel footplates over his rear bumper and these caused quite a dent in bumper and under scuttle. Panels are like hens' teeth so I shall be taking the 912 round to my local body shop in Ludford (round the corner) on Thursday for renovation work and spray - at the Volvo driver's expense, I'm happy to say! And while it's in the hangar, I'm having the trim replaced. So by the 'Wolds Tour', I hope to have the car sorted. Brod.

At last I have taken delivery back of my pride and joy. Can't fault the repairs and quality of the workmanship. We were treated to a tour of the workshop very impressive setup. Cars waiting work included 2 mclarens 2 bentley mulsanes and a very impressive 1984 911 turbo. Weirdest thing being the manager Rob was the manager of stratstones where my car was bought from in wilmslow and told me how it was ordered for the showroom as a show car, they put it in the centre and placed silver cars around it.

that's good Steve, still waiting for mine back from Advance Accident Repairs so will be doing the tour in the BMW instead. New target is Chatsworth 1st July, been a long 2 months without it see you there cheers Graeme

Hi Steve So pleased that the car is on the road again. Looking forward to seeing it at Chateau Impney Regards Tracy Boxster RS

well the 993 is finally back from it's major rear end surgery. I'm absolutely lost for words, the job done by advance accident repair is staggeringly good. While the car was in I asked them to repaint the front end. This didn't leave much left unpainted so I went the whole hog and ended up re-painting the whole car. Really pleased I did. Now looks like it's just rolled out of Stuttgart in 1995! off the Chatsworth tomorrow to show it off at the R8 event! I know that AW repair have recently been appointed as R4 body repairers but if you want an alternative quote use advance at Chesterfield. Can't recommend them highly enough [link=http://www.advanceaccidentrepairs.co.uk/]http://www.advanceaccidentrepairs.co.uk/[/link] photos of their finished work!
