Rear Fog Light

JB 3.2

New member
Hi,

Its coming up to MOT time and I notice my high intensity rear (fog) light is not working.
When you switch the rear fog lights on the light inside the switch goes out? but the actual light(s) do not illuminate.

I've checked the fuse and the bulbs and both appear to be OK.

Any suggestions on what to look for? and should there be one or two rear fog lights?

I'm never going to live this down.

My wife on reading the owners manual identified that the rear fog lights will only operate when the front fog lights have been activated first......Doh!!

At the moment I have both rear fog lights working, but I seem to recall, that in the UK you should only have one rear fog light on the off-side and not both as it causes confusion with brake lights.

Not quite. If you only have one rear fog light it must be in centre, or towards off-side. You are allowed two - then they must be positioned as a matching pair.

But I need a new rear fog light panel. GF "forgot" to put her hand brake on last night and her car rolled into back of 993. I thought no damage done but in daylight I can see bottom of centre light panel is cracked.[]

John, your signature still says "911 3.2" ??

So what? Mine is a little older too[;)]... shows our "˜heritage'.

John - we must meet up again soon, so I can view your 993 (and check out your foglights[:D])!

Mark,

Thanks for the reminder, I've only had the 993 a few weeks and I'm still struggling to come to terms with the sad loss of my 3.2 even though it has gone to a good home. I will update both my signature and change of ownership with club office.

Paul

Fog lights now OK and I have 12 months MOT, 993 is in use every day so I will look out for you on the Silsoe by-pass
