Have just noticed that my rear near side rear red fog light is not working. Have checked bulb - OK and fuse (A7 & C7) and both OK. Appears to be no power in bulb socket but inter-connecting multi socket in rear N/S lamp bay appears OK. I note in my 996 Essential Companion guide that not all models have both rear fogs connected depending on country of use. Could this be the case for my MY2003 C2 Coupe or should I look deeper into the wiring?

Rear Fog Lights

There is nothing wrong - despite having a bulb in it, the nearside light isn't connected. It's something to do with legislation apparently.
I've known people to run a wire from one side to the other......ORIGINAL: slick0007 hi my 2202 c4 tip is the same and i would like both of them on does anyone know what it would take to get it going thanks peter
It's so that the brake lights don't get "lost" in the glare from the fog lights.ORIGINAL: slick0007 hi my 2202 c4 tip is the same and i would like both of them on does anyone know what it would take to get it going thanks peter
So does that mean that connecting up the "spare" n/s fog lamp would cause an MOT fail?ORIGINAL: Mark Bennett It's so that the brake lights don't get "lost" in the glare from the fog lights.

May actually be illegal Why would you want a second fog light. You can only use it in Fog (Not heavy Rain) It would also make it difficult to know if you are breaking The whole idea is that you can tell them from twin brake light it is not safe to have two fog lights working Also don't know where u live but I can only think of one trip when Ive needed Fog Lights in the last three years
Two are standard on most newish Audi's,[8D] But as you say cannot remember the last time I really needed them.May actually be illegal
Second to atrociously bad lane discipline, incorrect use of rear foglights is my next pet hate. I've never been remotely tempted to connect both, as IMO it is safer with one.
