rear footwell leak still

I have had a leak into my drivers rear footwell that i have never been able to find.I have now removed the rear carpet and over the weekend with all the rain the footwell was bone dry.I then drove to work this morning(roads dry)and when i recheck at work after 5 miles journey,i see a small trail of water coming from the seam on the box section where the drivers seat is fixed in(rh side). If I reseal the seam will it hold water in a box section and where is the water likely to come from in the first place?I have checked the front bulkhead downwards and the front carpets/floor pans and these are dry aswell. The sunroof drains are clear and the sunroof seal is fine too along with the tailgate seal.

Could be your seat runner has cracked or stressed the floorpan. Have seen this on a 944 before. If a previos owner has been rather portly, the can break right through the floor.

Mine does the same. I found the leak under the corner of the windscreen on the drivers side. If I park the car with the nose below the rear or on the flat I have no problem. If I park with the nose above the rear of the car, the water runs down the windscreen, then underneath and then drips just in front of the pedals and runs to the drivers rear footwell. I will probably fix with some clear mastic next spring. Jason

Update today I sealed the small seam inside and again after a short journey, found a small trail of water around the handbrake area...Has anybody heard of water leaking around handbrake mountings please?I know the rain isnt coming over any door seal area.

Water can splash up the tube that the cable runs into from the outside. I think there is a rubber on the end of the handbrake cable where it enteres the body. Try putting some sicoflex or similar round it to seal it in. The S2 I picked up last night had a soaking carpet behind the passenger seat. Sunroof was leaking due to blocked drains! Easy fix!

Removed drivers seat today and it appears that water is coming through the box section under the seat (that connects up to the sill)I have cleared out some crud from the inner sill drain holes which appeared to be blocked so will see if this works.
Can anybody tell me if there is a sunroof drain pipe tube on the drivers side aswell as the passenger side as I only have one fastening down and underneath the passenger side and finally where the inner wheel arch splash sheild comes down to the sill,I have a triangular hole on both sides of the car that are exposed is this normal or should there be sheilds there too.
many thanks
Alan
