This had been a niggling problem for longer than I can remember, but since there were no leaks and it was pretty intermittent, I hadn't got round to sorting it. I knew the hatch pins would need adjusting/replacing, because as you can see, the hatch rubber had worn right through the pait to primer due to the amount of play.
Pins seized of course, but freed with liberal WD40 several times and leave for an hour. You could feel the slack that needed to be taken up by pressing down on the hatch. Turned out to be about 4mm on the offside and a couple of mm on the nearside. Now shuts and opens much easier. I was going to touch in the paint and then put a cover of clear paint protection film, but then I had a better idea which was much simpler - you may not be surprised
