Rear hatch sun blinds

Saw a 944 (white lux on an E-plate) on my way in to work this am - he waved - I waved back as you do etc..

What I thought looked really cool was that he had black sun blinds on the rear hatch glass... There were two side by side - but what amazed me was that they went right from the top to the bottom... Now we have a set on our rear door windows of the missus's car for the kids - and there is no way they are anywhere near long enough for the rear hatch glass of my 944 - I have tried..

So - wondered if anyone else had these??, or seen these??, or even if it was you I saw this am??

Would be very interested in where the long blinds came from as it actually looked very smart - and in the hot weather, I should imagine it does cool the cabin a little..

hmmm- who has rought measurements of the rear glass... Mainly the flat bit - not the bit that curves off... I 'mayy' be on to something here

these: http://www.motormods.co.uk/subproductsection.asp?id=277047

have a pull down measurement of 78cm - wonder if thats enough - sure it will be...?

I think (although I may be wrong) these are standard for those who have split rear seats. Because the split rear seats dont allow normal operation of the blind they were mounted in the windows.

Generally not thought as being quite as good in operation as the blind used with the fixed rear seats.

Hi Edd - I dont mean the luggage cover for the boot..

this was an actual roller sun blind for the glass as you see on rear doors etc (like in the link above) stuck on by suckers..

I have the split seats and have the luggage cover - its the roller sun blind that I really liked..

Just need to measure the glass where it will sit to see if the above are the ones... The one I saw this am had two side by side which I think may be better as it will account for the curve of the glass better, where as the ones above in the link are quite wide.... hmmm.

Doesn't the wiper motor housing get in the way? I'm also wondering what the spring tension needs to be, since it will be closer to horizontal than vertical... But it could also double as a hammock!

Right - I have measured the glass and its one of these:
1. A: 93 X B: 80 X C: 78
2. A: 100 X B: 80 X C: 78

the 78 pull length is about spot on.. It may not pull all that way down due to the wiper as stated..

What i cant make my mind up on is if the 100 width at the top will be too much taking the slight curve of the glass... i think it will be ok - but not quite sure... Anyone else fancy measuring there glass and seeing what they think???

This will be what the guy had this am...

If someone brings the measurements to Blenheim over the weekend we'll have a mini Blind-Fitting seminar and technical discussion! [:D][:D]

Shame I cant be there - but these are the options I have found..:
1) "SUITABLE FIT FOR MOST CARS (110 X 60CM)" - Thats 110cm horizontal and 60cm vertical

2) 93cm x 78cm OR 100cm x 78cm - again Horizontal x vertical measurements
