Hi to all...
Just found this group after much looking....thank goodness!
I have recently fulfilled my childhood dream of getting a Porsche.. & it even takes the wife & kids[:D]
Has anyone had experience of the Visuallogic headrest screens? I am just about too order a pair but I can't find them in the flesh to give them the once over.
Thanks in advance.

Fitted the new headrests with screens & they look great & work well. Much better than the Porky option I can't get the photos to upload but I can post on a website if any one is interested.

Hi Malt, I am within a week or so of purchasing a Cayenne and am interested in the headrest screens although I do not have the tv or dvd on the car I am likely to purchase so it may be a costly excercise for me. But I would be very interested in the details and pics of your set up. Thanks in advance, Ross.

Hi Rossco,
The server still wont let me attach pictures so have a look here.

USA site who makes them.

Expect to pay around £1500 for the pair + around 3 hours labour for fitting.
I fitted the units myself as I am in the AV business (home not car) & found them to be fairly easy to do. The hardest part is locating a switched feed from the car that turns off when the car is locked.... not an easy task but got around it in the end.
I found the UK distributor who brings them in & purchased directly off them but they don't generally deal with public, he was OK to supply me as I am a legitimate AV dealer.
Each headrest has it's own DVD player that can be watched on either screen or both screens at the same time. The unit also has.... aux in for PS2 or ipod etc & an FM modulator so the whole family can sing along to the Sound of Music if the kids don't want to wear the infa red headphones[:D] You get everything you need in the box except longer power cables. Different trim options are available to order from the States unless you went for the bright pink leather option in the car.
I looked at the official porky ones.... I think the designer must have been having a bad day!
Took the car into the dealer & both the service & sales staff were very interested...
Hope this helps & shout if you need more info.

Thanks Malt, they look to be good quality although there seem to be much cheaper options available around on the net. I get the car next week so I will do some comparisons then. Cheers. Ross.

Speaking as a high end AV dealer Bose audio, Loewe etc... I have a fair eye for good quality video...... & they are the best intergrated car screens that I have seen. Excellent finish on the leather & superb video quality. Yes you will find cheaper... but I doubt you will find better.
I am in the north Birmingham in you want a look..

Thanks Mal I may take you up on that, and I agree that price alone is the wrong way to shop, the quality is thing thing you have to live with on a daily basis. I am having doubts about the car I thought I was about to buy now (see my thread) So this issue will be on the back burner for the time being anyway.

Cheers

Ross

OK price wise its in a different league but Costo do a Nextbase twin Screen set - two independent players or they can be linked together to show same DVD Comes with batteries for both so that Hooligans can watch DVD out of car OK so they strap round headrest as they are removable BUT £200 is attractive They retail at approx £300 elsewhere

We sell a little Nextbase 10" DVD combo for caravans & it's a good little unit. I couldn't be faffed with taking them in & out each time the kids wanted to watch a DVD hence I went for a permanent fit kit.
It's all down to what floats your boat & how much you are prepared to spend on ICE.
