I have had two conflicting solutiuons for replacing the rear struts.
1. Access through rear cabin for the chassis conection end of strut.
2. Reach over engine.

If anyone has performed this change, I would appreciate advise.

Hi

Maurice is absolutely right - to change these you need to remove your airbox cover on the right hand side of the engine bay and your fan assembly on the left-hand side to allow you sufficient access to enable you to change these lid struts.

You can only change them from inside the engine bay - there is no connection to the interior of the car.

As Maurice also rightly said - a blanket or other suitable catching tool is also an essential tool...as well as patience - it is a fiddly job at arms length.

New struts make a world of difference though - no more engine lid dropping on your head!!
