Happy New Year all,

I was changing a lamp in my rear lights last year and whilst removing the black cover which sits on top of the lights (underneath the boot lid)retained by 1/2 turn clips of some sort, one fell into the engine compartment never to be seen again. Any one bought these clips before? advice on Porsche breakers if possible please.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mike

I did the same thing a few years ago. Don't know where it went!!

They are very cheap to buy from Porsche OPC. I'm sure this is the Part Number 999 590 036 40 - Cap Nut. You OPC will tell you if you describe it

As said above, these retaining clips are pretty cheap but buy plenty. I'm sure they were developed by NASA for early experiments! Falling into the engine bay is a mis-fire; the real fun is when you lift the cover and fire the clips into space.

Thanks guys, never thought I'd be able to just buy the clip assumed it would be a complete part.

I did exactly the same thing a couple of years ago. They are obtainable from your OPC, price about a £1.00 as has been stated. It made me laugh that we've all done this [:D]

Ditto, they are definately designed to fire into the engine bay and fill you with worry about what it might do when you turn the ignition key. I lost two at one go[8|]
