Rear light cluster condensation

The indicator part of my RHS rear light cluster always seems to have condesation in it. This morning, removing it, I can't see why it should be any different from the LHS one.

They both seem to have what appear to be vent pipes (one for each of the brake and indicator), nothing looks blocked up.

Anyone any ideas?

Both vent pipes should terminate in the heater blower pipe, as far as I remember.

This is common 964 problem. I thought Porsche had sorted this out by the time the 993 came along.

When I had a 964, eventually in desperation, I drilled tiny holes in the bottom of the lights to allow water to drain out. Don't see why that wouldn't work for the 993.

Mark,
That's interesting - none of my vent pipes go anywhere (either side of the car) - they just come out of the back (er...front) of the rear clusters and point downward. Implication of what you say is that these should connect to pipes that head off into the engine compartment.

I'll investigate further - perhaps they are tucked in somewhere and have become disconnected. At some stage someone has swapped the clusters for the "redder" indicator (US) type.

Thanks

No they don't. sorry ! Should have looked first. The pipes connecting to the heater pipe come from the distributor. Sorry for the misinformation.
