Rear Light Issue??

Both rear lights work - except when I brake - then there's NOTHING on the drivers side. Anybody got any ideas why braking causes both the light & brake light not to function?

(I can't imagine the bulbs are in the wrong way etc - otherwise it would have been picked up at the MOT months ago, or spotted soon after.)

Thanks

Hi

Few Suggestions

1) Are the Bulbs ok?
2) Are they the dual Element Bulbs?
3) Are they fitted correctly?
4) Has a Fuse blown?

Another helpful tip to know if your rear bulbs have gone, When you brake the corresponding front Sidelight will come on!! Took me a while years ago wondering why when I braked the front Sidelight came on!!
Hope this might help

Morning
Had this fault on a Audi 8 at my garage last week
On one of the bulbs the filliments were touching each other
So check bulbs first,do the stop light work when side lights switched off ?

Thanks guys - it was just the bulb (they're dual filament bulbs for lights & brakes so I guess one filament had gone)
